Just beyond the artisanal shop of Casena and Mozza’s oceanfront dining pavilion at the Marina Village on the Sea of Cortez is an unassuming alley that leads to the new Costa Palmas lounge + nightclub: Chiki. The first of many projects led by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio (MBDS) brings together raw authenticity and rich Mexican culture.

“You hear the music and feel the energy, but you have to find it,” says Jason Grosfeld, founder of the development company, Irongate. “Like many of the areas we have developed at Costa Palmas, there is an element of exploration to the village, with hidden gems like the lounge + nightclub, where you can catch up with friends on the dancefloor after a day on the beach.”

The nightclub certainly feels like a universe all its own. Inspired by La Casa Azul in Mexico City, especially its architectural configurations, the nightclub’s interiors are eclectic in style yet retain a uniquely Mexican feel that plays to a fresh generation of cultural enthusiasts and modern-day travelers.

The bar area is draped in colorful fabrics to create an intimate cocooning effect gracefully juxtaposed with statement-glass chandeliers and antique mirrors that stretch across the bar to reflect the geometric tiled floors. MBDS worked closely with mosaic artist, Celso, to create show-stopping murals that draw inspiration from folk art and traditions, particularly the significance of the sun and moon within Mexican culture.

The speakeasy aesthetic offers a variety of seating experiences, including intimate booths designed for relaxing before or after hitting the dance floor, and outdoor seating in a central courtyard area. And everywhere, there are murals and mosaics that bring walls to life in a deeply rooted Mexican way. A color palette of reds, oranges, and greens lends drama and excitement while colored lighting help create a cantina vibe throughout the dining and bar areas.

“The location was just as important as the details of the space,” says Jason Grosfeld. The nightclub is a first taste of what is coming from MBDS, which will soon bring Grosfeld’s vision to life with Casa Blake, the first boutique resort and residences at Costa Palmas Marina Village.

Come sip on an El Rey (featuring home-aged santanera tequila, pink peppercorn, antica formula, luxardo cherry, and orange bitters), a Diablito (made with mezcal, lime, simple syrup, baked pineapple and chamoy), or one of the many delicious, bespoke cocktails shaken behind the mosaic bar.

If you’re looking for scores of shops or a bustling nightlife, Kaua’i is probably not the place for you. However, Kaua’i beckons those who are laser-focused on the luxury of time—family time, downtime, and me time.

One Kaua’i property stands in a class of its own: Timbers Kaua’i, part of the 450-acre Hōkūala resort on the southeast shore. The master-planned development features a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, miles of winding trails, an organic farm, and more than 40 acres of winding lagoons, home to five species of endangered birds.

I recently traveled to Timbers to learn why families—like the wildlife—flock to this private oasis for a secluded, service-focused experience featuring luxurious island accommodations and amenities.

Live Effortlessly

Offering a seamless and personalized lifestyle, Timbers Kaua’i features 47 luxury residences, including two-, three-, and four-bedrooms for sale as whole ownership, residential interests, and nightly rentals—all mere steps from some of the most beautiful beaches in Hawai’i. Lavish appointments, thoughtfully curated art, and fully stocked kitchens enhance the experience.

In addition to the existing residences, the property’s newest phase is underway. When finished, it will consist of 36 three- and four-bedroom townhomes, each featuring multiple expansive outdoor lanais, disappearing glass walls, a private plunge pool, and detached carport.

I had the good fortune of staying in a sprawling, three-bedroom residence with a breathtaking panoramic view of the lagoon, coastline, and mountains beyond. From the time I arrived to find my favorite wine chilled to my departure time, when a private car takes me to the airport, the team at Timbers ensures each detail is noted, personalized, and executed.

Future plans include single-family homesites, renovations to the clubhouse, and shopping, dining, and entertainment amenities.

Stay to Play (and Recharge)

Kaua’i has resisted some of the commercialization and overwhelming tourism other islands have experienced. Still, there’s something for everyone to do on and near the property.

While the view from my residence’s lanai is spectacular, I sipped coffee in the oceanfront infinity pool each morning for a front-row seat to the sunrise. Throughout the visit, I spent time in the expansive pool and lounging on the surrounding deck, which is outfitted in ocean-facing lounge chairs and daybeds.

Additional on-site experiences include everything from harvesting fresh ingredients at the farm to signature spa treatments. And while I loved relaxing at the spa, I made sure to take advantage of the abundance of outdoor adventures like kayaking and paddleboarding on the property’s protected lagoon. If you prefer clubs to paddles, take on Timbers Kaua’i’s 18-hole course, the Ocean Course at Hōkūala. A Jack Nicklaus signature design, the course, with its oceanfront fairways, makes great use of the surrounding natural landscape. Each hole is like a sunrise from the infinity spa—worthy of a thousand pictures.

I also recommend venturing offsite for a few local experiences. Sleeping Giant offers a challenging climb with views that pay dividends—and a private guide from Timbers can join you on your journey! One of my favorite experiences was renting a beach cruiser in Kapa’a and wistfully pedaling along the coastline. And, of course, no visit to the island is complete without indulging in a shaved ice. Dreamy!

Experience the World

Ranging from the slopes of Aspen to the shores of Kaua’i, Timbers’ residents and guests have access to many tried-and-true family legacy places. Residences at their properties are available for whole or fractional ownership. Some of these destinations—like Timbers Kaua’i at Hōkūala—also offer nightly rates.

Truly an island paradise, Timbers Kaua’i is the epitome of indoor/outdoor living. With a service-focused, family-first vibe, the Timbers lifestyle embraces the luxury of time, and it is ready to share that with you.

Timbers Company, developer and operator of properties in over 15 diverse high-end destinations, has announced the addition of Pākela ‘Ike at Hōkūala, a private cul-de-sac community comprised of 24 half-acre homesites on Kaua’i.

Situated within the 450-acre Hōkūala resort community, the new development is just steps from world-class golf, amenities, dining, trails, and beaches. Framed by spectacular mountain or ocean views, these graciously sized homesites range from $695,000 to $1.1 million. A number of homesites are already reserved with the first homes anticipated to be completed by early 2024.

“Pākela ‘Ike at Hōkūala offers buyers with an opportunity to build their own utopia within a unique neighborhood that offers both luxury and privacy, yet immersed in the epicenter of the Kaua’i community and at an arm’s reach of the Pacific Ocean,” stated Debbie Edgerton, Senior Sales Executive at Hōkūala Real Estate. “These rare, half-acre homesites are located at the true heart of the expansive Hōkūala enclave, featuring convenient access to not only a bevy of luxury amenities but also the unbridled beauty of its terrain, ranging from wetlands and tropical rainforest to a rugged coastline and winding lagoons.”

Envisioned for buyers looking to plant roots in Kaua’i in harmony with the land and local community, Pākela ʻIke was named to evoke two complementary concepts in the Hawaiian language—Pākela, meaning “surpassing excellence,” and ‘Ike, meaning “visionary or knowledge.” The residential haven was inspired by the Hawaiian culture’s reverence for meaningful connection and perfectly situated for residents looking to begin their own family legacy on Kaua’i.

“The addition of Pākela ʻIke within Hōkūala’s 450-acre coastal community invites our buyers to forge a deeper, more meaningful connection to the spirit of the island as they build their dream home,” stated Chris Burden, Chief Development Officer at Timbers Resorts. “These homesites are surrounded by Kauaʻi’s untamed natural beauty unlike anything else currently available on the market, not only in Hawaii but across the globe.”

THE LAND

Offering the most private residential resort setting in Kaua’i, Pākela ʻIke is nestled in a verdant emerald sanctuary surrounded by Kauai’s mystic mountain ranges once used by voyagers to navigate through the Pacific’s azure waters.

The low-density nature of Hōkūala coupled with the rare, generous sized homesites afford owners privacy and tranquility without sacrificing convenience with a host of amenities just mere minutes away. Hōkūala’s coveted location perched along Kauai’s southeastern shore offers owners the opportunity to fully immerse in the idyllic, sensory beauty of the Garden Island, from the gentle salt spray along the shoreline to the fragrant aromas of the rainbow eucalyptus forest and blossoming plumeria found throughout its fertile grounds.

THE BUILD

Aligned with Hōkūala’s philosophy of integrating and blending into the Hawaiian lifestyle, the people, the structures and the developed environment, Pākela ʻIke offers an architectural style that delves deeper into the soul and spirit of Hawaii and harmonizes with the natural environment. Buyers are provided with thoughtful guidelines to ensure their future homes mirror historic Hawaiian design themes and motifs utilizing natural materials while harnessing the island’s climate to maximize cross ventilation, natural sunlight and vistas of the ocean, mountains, and adjacent Ocean Course golf course. To ensure a seamless process, the Pākela ʻIke homesites feature a Preferred Vendor Program, bringing together the expertise of renowned architects, designers, landscape architects and builders to help buyers effortlessly custom design their dream Hawaiian retreat. An on-site team has been created specifically to help navigate the permitting and construction process and are available every step of the way through planning, design, permitting and construction. Buyers will have the ability to create graciously sized two-story homes with a minimum of 2,000 interior square feet and are encouraged to both build traditional lanais to provide sheltered outdoor living spaces as well as utilize materials, textures, and artworks native to Kaua’i. Buyers can also incorporate plunge pools and indoor/outdoor showers to further underline the indoor/outdoor lifestyle afforded by this beloved subtropical climate. Those building within Pākela ʻIke community are also encouraged to create their own personal oasis incorporating a variety of canopy trees, lush palms and shrubs as well as traditional canoe plants first brought to the island by Pacific settlers.

HŌKŪALA – KAUAI’S RISING STAR

Owners at Pākela ʻIke will have the benefit of living within Hōkūala, slated to be Kaua’i’s most comprehensive resort community. As a subdivision of Hōkūala, Pākela ʻIke’s residents will have access to a growing list of luxury amenities including priority tee times at the award-winning signature Jack Nicklaus course, The Ocean Course; agrication experiences at The Farm at Hōkūala, a 16.5-acre Organic farm and orchard; farm-to-fork cuisine at the award-winning Hualani’s restaurant; traditional Hawaiian spa services at Nanea Spa; and over 17 miles of trails weaving through a wildlife sanctuary home to five different endangered bird species. Additionally, Hōkūala will be welcoming tennis and pickleball courts currently under construction; a forthcoming four-star hotel complete with new dining venues; a luxury retail complex, several boat docks located along the property’s 30 acres of meandering lagoons for kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, etc. Both existing and forthcoming community elements are rooted in authenticity and sustainability to formulate a genuine Kaua’i experience for generations to come.

LOCAL REAL ESTATE MARKET

The island of Kaua’i is only 562.30 square miles in size and much of it is uninhabitable, or difficult to reach, limiting new residential construction opportunities. The launch of these 24 Pākela ‘Ike homesites and recent ground-breaking of Timbers’ 12 Lāola Nani townhomes in late 2021, slated for completion in Summer 2023, brings forth much needed inventory to meet market demand. The property continues to attract buyers seeking to work from paradise, connect with loved ones, or simply live the spirit of Aloha. Hōkūala Real Estate closed over $39 million in new and resale residences in 2022.

South Florida’s iconic resort and private club, The Boca Raton, celebrates the opening of Tower, its fully reimagined fifth hotel. Following a $65 million transformation, the 27-story Tower, situated next to the newly constructed Harborside Pool Club, showcases expansive suites, breathtaking vistas, and distinct programming that deliver an unmatched experience for families and travelers of all ages.

“The relaunch of Tower is a significant milestone in the evolution of The Boca Raton. It further defines our property as one of the world’s most distinguished resorts and private clubs, setting a new standard for luxury hospitality,” said Daniel A. Hostettler, President & CEO of The Boca Raton. “It was integral to our long-term strategy to create five distinct hotels, each offering a unique experience.”

Tower’s story began in 1969 when its unveiling marked a majestic enhancement to the Boca Raton skyline as the City’s tallest building. Paying homage to the pink hues of Boca Raton, the Tower’s exterior has been refreshed to a light Coastal Pink. Inside, 244 spacious rooms and suites are fully reimagined by architecture and design firm Rockwell Group. Contemporary and flexible configurations include connecting suites and entire floor takeovers, ideal for multi-generational families and groups of friends. Bright and airy with warm wood accents, each room features sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and coastline. As described by Shawn Sullivan, Partner at Rockwell Group, “We redesigned the rooms with a contemporary coastal feel imbued with a sense of casual luxury to flaunt the spectacular 360-degree views. This meant adding built-in window seating, bleached wood furniture, neutral linen fabrics, fluted feature walls and classic molding.”

In addition to a reimagined interior, the experience has also been reinvented. Tower’s dedicated butlers provide a range of services from the practical to the magical. And for high-touch service blended with modern technology (and a touch of whimsy), young guests can opt for a snack delivery from one of two Tower robot butlers, Johnnie and Ethel, named after the monkey pets of The Boca Raton’s original owner and famed architect Addison Mizner.

On the second floor, Tower Lounge is an exclusive hideaway for hotel guests to relax, connect, or simply disconnect throughout the day. Enjoy complimentary morning pastries and coffee, afternoon snacks, and as a special weekend treat, a Sundae Bar. Opportunities to unwind abound, from a listening lounge with beautifully crafted headphones by premium audio brand Master & Dynamic, to a classic games area, and an exclusive book-lending library curated in partnership with Assouline.

Other experiential collaborations were designed to provide engaging sensory opportunities, including an NFT art collection curated by Lynn University NFT Museum, on display in Tower’s lobby. Guests can view one-of-a-kind original artwork from notable and up-and-coming artists who are transforming the art world through breakthrough technology.

Tower is just steps from a myriad of extraordinary experiences across The Boca Raton’s 200-waterfront-acres. Activities cater to all interests, from an 18-hole golf course, and Racquet Club with 16 tennis courts and six pickleball courts, to the award-winning Spa Palmera, seven swimming pools, and a private golden beach. One of South Florida’s most exclusive culinary destinations, The Boca Raton has reimagined its drink and dine program with more than a dozen new restaurants and lounges, including four signature concepts in collaboration with Major Food Group – Japanese Bocce Club, Principessa Ristorante serving Italian classics, The Flamingo Grill chophouse, and celebrated brunch hotspot Sadelle’s. Still to come, lakeside all-day dining at Harbor House, which will open this winter next to a to-go eatery, Burger Bar.

For residents of Maui accustomed to flying private to and from the island, the annual ROAM Maui membership fee costs less than a single round trip on an executive private jet, allowing more passengers to travel with new senses of security, discretion and a commitment to a more balanced environment.  This semi-private model greatly reduces the carbon impact by taking executive jets out of the sky from members flying their own jets to the island, saving an estimated 60 million pounds of Co2 emissions per year.

The ROAM Maui Experience

ROAM Maui flights are flown on two specialized, VIP-configured Boeing 737-700s.  The all-first-class planes feature just 58 first-class seats, complete with a new interior refurbishment, state-of-the-art purification system, ultra-fast WiFi and the latest StageTM On Demand entertainment system.

Once in the air, the ROAM Maui experience reaches new heights through its in-flight culinary & beverage program, which features cuisine from a rotating list of celebrity chefs and wines from celebrated winemakers.  The culinary advisor is James Beard Foundation’s winner of Best Chef in America, Charlie Palmer, alongside the fine wine, including HALL Wines in Napa Valley, from Ambassador Kathryn Hall (a ROAM Maui Member).

Additionally, this premium leisure travel experience includes access to PAWS Club, the unique ‘pets on jets’ program that makes traveling with furry companions a breeze.  Members have access to an innovative partnership with the Maui Humane Society’s Direct Release program, enabling pets to accompany owners from their mainland home to Maui with no island quarantine restriction. Additionally, 100 percent of profits for services will go toward Maui’s animals in need.

ROAM Maui is the brainchild of partners Chris Early, David Young and Darin Greer, and is an affiliate company to air mobility consultancy, ROAM Private Air. The Boeing 737-700s are staffed and operated by Hillwood Airways, a certified U.S. direct air carrier.

The service will target home owners of from five exclusive residential communities and associations on Maui – Kapalua Resort Association, Kaanapali Golf Estates, Makena Golf & Beach Club, Kula Community Association, and Wailea Resort Association.

On the heels of a massive, multimillion-dollar renovation enhancing the Fairmont hotel and beach club at the esteemed Mayakoba development in Mexico’s scenic Riviera Maya, Fairmont Residences Mayakoba, the resort’s residential component developed by RLH Properties, has announced the sales launch of the property’s final phase of development. This last piece of the master plan features three new buildings and comprises the final collection of residences offering full ownership. The buildings will feature a mix of six or seven fully furnished private residences, one prime penthouse and thoughtful interiors designed by Room 1804, a celebrated Spanish design firm. Pricing for the new residences starts at $1.67 million, with the first building completing as early as Winter 2023.

The sales launch coincides with the sellout of all previous phases of full-ownership offerings at Fairmont Residences Mayakoba, which included 34 residences across seven buildings, one of which just completed this last month. The buyers at this newly opened building were delivered residences finished fresh with the new designs. The new interiors have just been unveiled and are now ready to be experienced by residents and toured by prospective buyers at Fairmont Residences Mayakoba.

Also nearing sell out at Fairmont Residences Mayakoba are three buildings from the previous phases that offer co-ownership. The buildings are a part of Fairmont Heritage Place Mayakoba, the brand’s co-ownership program, which gives buyers the chance to own real estate for a portion of the cost and responsibility. Development for one more co-ownership building with Room 1804’s vision is underway, with construction expected to complete in Spring 2024. Co-ownership for existing inventory at Fairmont Heritage Place is now priced from $240,000 for a 1/12 share, where residents can enjoy the benefits of second homeownership without the hassle of year-round upkeep or the commitment to one locale. They have the option to trade usage at another Fairmont co-ownership destination or at other Fairmont Hotels, Raffles Hotels and Resorts, Swissotel Hotels and Resorts and select Sofitel properties.

“The lifestyle at Fairmont Residences Mayakoba is perfect for all types of residents, whether they be large families, groups of friends or empty-nesters wanting a luxurious and reliable vacation spot,” said Kappner Clark, Chief Marketing Officer at RLH Properties. “The homes were designed with entertaining in mind, so they feature sprawling living areas and many opportunities to lounge and dine outside. They are far larger than an ordinary hotel room with total square footage ranging from 3,400 to over 6,200, and they can be purchased either outright or in fractions. These options give buyers the freedom to choose what’s best for them, and we’ve found that buyers really appreciate the flexibility.”

The forthcoming full-ownership buildings designed by Room 1804 were envisioned to complement the homes’ expansive floor plans, double-height ceilings and seamless indoor-outdoor integration. The firm selected finishes that are authentic to the area, including hand-crafted natural stone, tile and wood accents, and chose furnishings that would fit into the natural color palette and offer unique, organic textures. Residents will enjoy bright open-concept main living areas with floor-to-ceiling glass walls that fully retract and spacious terraces that give new meaning to the outdoor living room concept. The outdoor spaces also feature private plunge or swimming pools, as well as scenic views of the jungle and golf course.

“The design of the residences was based and founded in the search for a look that breathes the concept of relaxed luxury,” said Luis Yunta Lizan, Interior Design Director of Room 1804.
“Fairmont Residences Mayakoba is a place to rest and relax, to forget the everyday routine and enjoy the spectacular surroundings of the environment. We created a tropical wabi-sabi aesthetic, where residents can appreciate the beauty in the simplicity of things.”

Additionally, buyers at Fairmont Residences Mayakoba and Fairmont Heritage Place Mayakoba enjoy two private pools and a kids’ club that are exclusive to residents only. They also have full access to the adjacent Fairmont hotel, which has recently unveiled portions of its highly anticipated renovation reaffirming its reputation as the best family friendly resort in Riviera Maya. The renovation includes a reimagining of the beach club, Maykana, with a new beachfront pool, El Cielo rooftop bar, the new signature restaurant Gaia, feet-in-the-sand experience in Fuego grill, La Laguna restaurant and main family pool, Bassano casual Italian restaurant, coffee shop Café Maya, kids club, spa and fitness center, lobby and reception, Hix Lobby Bar & Lounge, Tauro Steakhouse and 401 hotel rooms. When residents visit Fairmont Mayakoba this fall and winter, they will embark on a brand new experience.

Another perk of owning real estate at Mayakoba is the access to the rest of the 600-acre oceanfront community. The development features more than 25 onsite restaurants, a world-famous PGA TOUR golf course, four spas, scuba dive center, racket center, “El Pueblito” Town Square, one mile of beautiful white sand coastline, kids camps and a bookable VanDutch private yacht, plus other recreational sports activities.

RLJ Lodging Trust has announced the debut of Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton, following a full-scale renovation and brand conversion. As Southern California’s only all-suite oceanfront resort, Zachari Dunes’ multi-million-dollar transformation elevates the standout coastal 250-all-suite property to an upscale hideaway complete with an array of thoughtful amenities and unparalleled beach views.

“As one of California’s only true oceanfront resorts, we are honored to introduce guests to Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach as a quintessential California getaway on California’s Gold Coast,” says General Manager Ben Ly. “With the resort’s unique position off the renowned Pacific Coast Highway, Zachari Dunes offers an authentic slice of the prized California lifestyle, where visitors can enjoy vibrant, spacious accommodations, epicurean delights, and authentic adventures from sea to sand and beyond. No doubt, the resort will become a beloved getaway for families, friends, or couples traveling to seek a relaxing beachfront respite.”

Nestled in Oxnard where Southern California meets the Central Coast between Malibu and Santa Barbara, Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach is a picturesque drive up the Pacific Coast Highway, an hour north of Los Angeles. Upon arrival at Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, guests are greeted by a fully renewed, light-filled lobby that draws on Southern California’s sunny weather and overlooks a new open-air plaza. As guests make their way outside, the enhanced communal public lounge area now features multiple fire pits and seating areas where guests can enjoy stunning ocean views and sunsets. As part of the complete reimagination of the resort, Zachari Dunes boasts the transformation of the resort’s spacious, multi-room suites, the vast majority of which are ocean facing; the addition of multiple new food and beverage concepts; a gear rental shop; and expanded indoor and outdoor meeting and event spaces.

Zachari Dunes’ Origin

The history of the region plays an integral part in Zachari Dunes’ lifestyle, design, and aesthetics as well as the renaming of the resort. Sugar mogul Henry Oxnard, who outlined plans to use land along the Central Coast of California to grow and process sugar beets in the early 1900s, had intended to name the settlement after the Greek word for sugar, Zachari. The resort is so named in a nod to Henry and his original vision, as is Henry’s Sundries & Gear rental, a one-stop-shop for equipment rentals, for guests to explore all that the expansive nine-acre property has to offer.

Reimagined Coastal California Lifestyle + Accommodations

Inspired by the essence of the ocean and its surrounding sugary sand dunes, Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach celebrates a relaxed yet adventurous and active California lifestyle. A reimagined grand resort arrival experience immediately welcomes guests to a quintessential California beach vacation, with a spacious and bright lobby overlooking the alfresco plaza with a fireplace, fire pit, pool, hot tub, and ocean beyond. Architecture that embodies a uniquely Californian take on Spanish Revival marries seamlessly with modern yet eclectic design that radiates authenticity, simplicity, and unity with the natural world. Throughout the resort, a modern color palette paired with light-to-deep terracotta and medium-to-dark wood tones is used, with ornate tile, decorative metal, and wrought iron fixtures complemented by clean lines and classic shapes such as arched walkways. Manifesting a laid-back coastal lifestyle, the property draws from its stunning landscape of sand, sea, and sky, with subtle, thought-provoking nods to the surrounding region.

With oceanfront, ocean view, beach view, pool view and garden view options, the contemporary hacienda-style resort’s suites boast more than 600 square feet of space. Configurations range from one king to two queen suites, featuring a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a separate living area with a queen sofa bed, dining area, wet bar, and separate bathroom, most with balconies or patios. The presidential suites offer two bedrooms and separate living areas, relaxing patio spaces and lush lawn space. Design that’s bold and upscale yet comfortable, drawing inspiration from the neighboring Pacific Ocean, allows guests to relax and harmonize with nature.

The Zachari Dunes Experience

Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach is home to a variety of experiences and amenities for all types of travelers to enjoy, inclusive of social gathering hubs, wellness offerings, and ease of access to local attractions. Couples, families, and vacationers alike can take advantage of the resort’s welcoming atmosphere and enhanced public spaces to reconnect, from lounging in the poolside cabanas, situated steps away from the sands of Mandalay Beach to gathering at the resort’s large concrete fireplace for s’mores or after dinner drinks. For guests seeking to relax and recharge in its coastal setting, Zachari Dunes offers an array of wellness facilities including an intimate spa featuring two treatment rooms and a menu of massages and facial treatments, in addition to a fitness center that accommodates cardio workouts, strength training and yoga as well as nearby tennis and basketball courts. For those craving adventure, Zachari Dunes offers the ultimate playground with Henry’s Sundries and Gear Rental, a full-service storefront in the lobby offering complimentary gear from bicycles and boogie boards, to GoPros, longboards, Hover boards, and more, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the beachfront destination.

Epicurean Delights Inspired by Oxnard’s Bounty

New food and beverage concepts, which showcase the lively spirit of the resort, are positioned as destinations for both locals and guests alike. Signature restaurant Ox and Ocean, an elevated sit-down venue that marries land, sea, and libations, seamlessly blends its indoor and outdoor seating areas. The restaurant will serve locally sourced produce and fresh seafood, celebrating influence and distinct flavors from American, Hispanic, and Asian cuisines in an elegant, yet approachable fashion. An expansive interior-exterior bar sets the scene for the venue’s beverage program, featuring a unique selection of craft cocktails, beers, and local wines.

Bringing in an authentic surfside California experience, Sugar Beats – the resort’s Airstream Cafe slated to open in early 2023 – will serve locally roasted coffee, on-the-go breakfast sandwiches, and fresh pastries in the morning to kickstart guests’ journey. In the afternoon, the venue transforms to a seafood shack, serving as a social space for guests with relaxed beachside vibes, offering locally brewed beers, canned wines, cocktails, and adult popsicles, along with fresh-caught seafood and California-inspired handhelds.

Meet at Mandalay Beach

Boasting more than 23,000 square feet of upgraded event space set against the stunning backdrop of the Pacific Ocean and the golden dunes on Mandalay Beach, the resort is an ideal location for group meetings, weddings, and social soirees from intimate gatherings to large-scale events. Indoor spaces include a variety of venues for team meetings, corporate retreats, large conferences, or wedding receptions, while outdoor spaces, including two oceanfront venues – the 3,000-square-foot Playa Vista Lawn and Mandalay Beach – serve as idyllic backdrops for weddings and special events, networking mixers, team building and more.

“Curio Collection by Hilton hotels and resorts are hand-picked for their distinct character, and Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach delivers that truly exceptional, one-of-a-kind experience of the California coast,” said Jenna Hackett, global brand head, Canopy by Hilton and Curio & Tapestry Collections by Hilton. “We are excited to welcome Zachari Dunes to the portfolio and for the continued growth of this lifestyle collection throughout the region.”

As a Curio Collection Hotel by Hilton property, Zachari Dunes joins a global portfolio of more than 120 one-of-a-kind hotels and resorts in more than 30 countries and territories. The collection provides authentic, curated experiences through distinctly local and elevated amenities, while offering the benefits of Hilton and its award-winning guest loyalty program, Hilton Honors.
